Diana Anthony
Diana Anthony was born in North Wales. On her army officer husband's retirement the family moved to New Zealand where Diana has finally been able to create her dream garden. She divides her time between writing and gardening. She has published four books and numerous features on horticulture.

Stephane Bedel is a heating engineer at GEFOSAT. He has managed energy advice services for over 10 years specialising in energy saving and renewables.

Pat Borer
Pat Borer is an architect with his own pioneering architectural practice in Mid-Wales. He has designed many of the buildings at CAT, including the award winning Autonomous Environmental Information Centre (AtEIC). He is also architect of CAT's latest project, the Wales Institute for Sustainable Education (WISE). Pat is advisor to the Walter Segal Self-Build Trust.

Nick Grant
Nick Grant and Mark Moodie are the partners of Elemental Solutions, a consultancy covering the vast range of water and waste water issues. The authors have successfully installed and monitored many non-mains sewage treatment systems.

Louise Halestrap
Louise Halestrap was formerly the organic waste management officer at CAT, specialising in composting and sustainable water treatment technologies. She now works as a freelance consultant.

Peter Harper
Peter Harper has been at the Centre for Alternative Technology for over 15 years as a landscape designer, director of biological research and now as Head of Research and Innovation.

Cindy Harris
Cindy Harris worked at the Centre for Alternative Technology for 17 years. Trained as a carpenter, she is a strong advocate of timber frame building. She now works for the Design Commission for Wales and is an honorary member of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales. She is also advisor to the Walter Segal Self-Build Trust.

Billy Langley
Billy Langley is a renewable energy engineer who has been designing, supplying and installing hydro schemes from domestic to grid scale over the last 12 years. He is also a hydro developer and project engineer for a major UK electricity company.

Chris Laughton
Chris Laughton is Managing Director of The Very Efficient Heating Company, a specialist consultant heating engineering company, and a DTI Clear Skies solar water heating installer. He is a regular tutor on CAT's solar water heating courses as well as the MSc Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies. He is also a frequent and well-known commentator for promoting higher standards in the industry.

Maurice Mitchell
Maurice Mitchell is an architect trained at the Architectural Association in London. He is a partner with Dwyer Mitchell Architects and teaches at Oxford Brookes and London Metropolitan Universities.

Hugh Piggott runs his own successful windpower business from his home in Scotland. He advises individuals and companies in Britain and abroad on windpower turbines and systems. He has been teaching others how to build windmills for twenty years and was recently featured as a Windpower advisor on BBC TV programme Castaway.

Thierry Salomon
Thierry Salomon is an engineer and the founder of GEFOSAT, an association working on the development of renewable energy technologies and energy conservation.

Allan Shepherd
Allan Shepherd has been working for environmental campaigns since 1989. He has an MA in International Relations and has lived in the Dyfi Valley for ten years (where he has worked on various projects, including a season with one of the UK's first organic box schemes and seven years with CAT's Publications department). As a freelance writer he has worked for the Guardian, the Express, the Garden, Geographical magazine and publishers Kogan Page.

Judith Thornton
Judith Thornton (D Phil) is a water and sewage consultant with Water Works - Wales Water and Sewage Services (www.water-works.org.uk), based in Mid Wales. SHe has worked with the Centre for Alternative Technology since 1999, until recently as Head of Biology, and currently as tutor on the MSc Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies. Judith has installed a variety of systems, including reed beds, compost toilets and private water supplies.

Paul Trimby
Paul Trimby worked as an Information and Consultancy Officer at CAT. He now works as a Renewable Energy Advisor to the Stroud Valley project in Gloucestershire
