This is an opportunity for individuals and families to stay at CAT, in a room in the Timber Frame Self-Build House, for a week’s self-catering holiday. CAT is located in the valley of the River Dulas, in a very beautiful part of Mid Wales, surrounded by mountains. The locality is perfect for walking and cycling and offers a range of attractions and activities to suit all ages. The Centre is 30 minutes away from beautiful spacious beaches accessible by car, bus, and train

The Timber Frame Self-Build House sleeps 16 people in 5 rooms.
Room 1- 5 beds
Room 2 - 3 beds
Room 3 - 4 beds
Room 4 - 2 beds
Room 5 - 2 beds

The rooms are simply furnished with bunk beds, There are 2 bath rooms and some rooms have wash basins. There is a common room / kitchen, which contains a 4- ring gas cooker. There is no fridge, microwave nor other electrical kitchen equipment.
The house has solar water heaters and electricity is from our renewable site supply. Waste water and sewage is recycled in our reed bed sewage system. The restaurant at CAT is open every day from 10 - 5. There are two supermarkets in Machynlleth, which are open every day. Spar is open most nights until 11 and will deliver food orders over £10.
We provide bed linen but you will need to bring towels. It is a good idea to have torches for walking round after dark, strong shoes for outdoors and soft shoes for indoors. The house is in a beautiful location on our main site next to the lake and has wonderful views to the mountains. You will have unlimited access to CAT displays. Despite being located in a slate quarry, families usually find it a very safe place for children to play. There are free activities for children every day during the summer in the Straw bale Theatre and free guided tours every afternoon.

Please tell us when you book how many adults and children will be in your party.

PAYMENT OF BALANCE
The balance of the course fee is due 4 weeks before the course. Approximately 6 weeks before the course you will receive an information pack and an invoice for the balance. If the balance is not paid when due we reserve the right to offer the space to another.

CANCELLATION FEES We regret that except in cases of illness supported by a doctor’s note, we will make the following cancellation charges.
· More than 6 weeks before the course – half the fee is forfeit
· Less than 4 weeks before the course the full fee is forfeit
CAT reserves the right to cancel any courses. Should this be necessary, deposits and fees will be returned in full.

DIRECTIONS
CAT is 3 miles north of Machynlleth on the A487 and is clearly sign posted. To arrive by train you need to come via Shrewsbury to Machynlleth. You can walk to CAT from the station (about 45 minutes) or take a taxi. A single journey costs about £4-50. There are infrequent buses. CAT is registered on www.liftshare.com as a public group. If you require or can offer a lift, please check the website.

WHAT TO BRING
We provide bedding but you will need to bring a towel. A torch is useful for moving between buildings at night. It is also advisable to bring wet weather gear and strong footwear as we are based in an old slate quarry.
