Events Calendar

Throughout the year, the Centre for Alternative Technology hosts a variety of events and activities designed to enhance your experience as a visitor. These range from hour-long specialist tours to all day events and children’s activities. We also have free audio tours to guide you around the Centre.

Fruit & VegNOW OPEN ON THURSDAY EVENINGS: THE QUARRY CAFE
Spend an evening relaxing in the Quarry Café, CAT’s vegetarian wholefood restaurant in Machynlleth.

Whether you want a light meal for two or a chat with friends over a slice of cake, the Quarry Café will offer a warm welcome and as always, delicious locally sourced organic meals, drinks and snacks.

Thursday evenings, open till 11pm, last food orders 9pm

Energy saving light bulbsFun practical tips and demonstrations for all, including energy efficiency workshops and a talk with our experts. This popular event returns in October 2008.

Children's holiday activitiesSpecial holiday activities where kids can learn how to reduce their impact on the earth. The programme includes interactive theatre, bug and slug hunts, hands-on workshops, and the amazing video-kaleidoscope shows.
