What do you think the world might look like in 10 years’ time?

Why not make your own climate action poster to display in your window and share on social media. You poster can be a celebration of all the things you love about our planet. It could be a voice for change. It could be a pledge to the Earth. It’s up to you.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Paper or card
  • Pens, pencils, paints, brushes – any art materials you have at home (don’t forget you can make your own natural paints with mud, ashes from a fire place or edible berries. Just squish them up and add a bit of water).
  • A window to place it in

STEP BY STEP

1. Feel the love

A climate action poster is about passion. Your poster will inspire change in yourself, your family, your friends and your community so what do you want it to say? Make a list of all the things you love about our planet and how you would feel if these things were gone or changed.

2. Think about design

Your poster has to be striking to grab people’s attention so think about how to get your point across in a bright and bold way. Does your poster need words or is it just pictures? Have a look online at some great, eye-catching posters for inspiration. You could sketch your ideas out first to make sure you have the perfect poster.

3. Size matters

Think about where you are going to display your poster, what size would your poster need to be to be seen? Can you experiment with different sizes and shapes?

4. We want action, when do we want it… NOW!

Now that you’ve designed your perfect poster, it’s time to make it a reality. Using all the arts and crafts materials you have at home create your bright, bold poster for everyone to see.

5. Display and share

A poster is meant to be seen so stick up your poster in a window for passers-by to see. Or have you got a space on your kitchen wall or in your bedroom? Social media is a great way to share your poster with all of your friends, you can even share it with us by posting a photo on CAT’s facebook page or tag @centreforalternativetechnology on instagram. #CATatHome.
