Open Days: MSc and MArch Courses

Graduate School open days offer an authentic flavour of what it’s like to learn on our postgraduate sustainability courses. Informative and inspiring, there’s time to chat with current students and our lecturers to find out if studying with CAT is right for you.

The day takes place during one of the residential study weeks and provides a chance to:

  • Find out specifics of the courses from our lecturers, and learn about the Graduate School
  • Tour the eco-centre, including accommodation and teaching facilities
  • Meet current students and get to know some of the people who may be starting their studies with you
  • Join a lecture or practical session to get a flavour of what you’ll be learning

Booking is essential as we have limited space. To book your place, please find the event below.

Usually from 9.30am to 4.30pm on a Friday, the day is free of charge and includes lunch in our vegetarian café.

It is also possible to arrange a one-to-one meeting to discuss studying with us. Please get in touch to arrange your visit.

Open Lectures

CAT is able to open up our lectures from experts in the field of environmental sciences, climate change, architecture, renewable energy, sustainable building, behaviour change and many other areas related to our postgraduate courses.  Lecturers have included Tim Lang (Food Policy), Colin Tudge (Campaign for Real Farming), Kevin Anderson (Tyndall Centre), Paul Chatterton (Urban Futures), Patrick Hannay (Architect).

These lectures form part of the postgraduate programme of teaching during the residential study weeks. Surrounded by our students’ enthusiasm and knowledge, these events are engaging and insightful.

Watch an on-topic film on an evening, sometimes followed by a discussion with a panel of experts in the field.  The bar is usually open for refreshments.

I very much enjoyed meeting staff and students, touring the unique CAT environment, and learning more about the postgraduate courses. I found the day very insightful…
