Order of the day

09:30 – Arrival

Begin the day with a guided tour of CAT’s gardens to explore how the site was transformed from a barren slate quarry to a nature-rich haven. Visit our productive organic vegetable and display gardens, explore CAT’s composting systems and discover how we manage the soil for a healthy ecosystem.

Enjoy a delicious slice of cake and coffee in one of CAT’s beautiful locations (location of the break is weather dependent).

Discover planting for nature and learn all about plants that encourage wildlife and biodiversity in the garden. Explore key themes of attracting insects and pollinators, natural pest control and fertility management, companion planting, selective weeding, and growing food for a diverse host of bird species in your garden.

Hearty vegetarian lunch in the CAT café made with plenty of homegrown goodies.

Learn about how to give wildlife a home in the garden. This practical hands-on session will explore how integrating food sources, water and shelter into all of your gardening decision making will transform how you view your garden habitat and give you lots of ideas to take away.

Time for more cake. You deserve it!
