Kim has 30 years of experience across science, sustainability, business and education. She joined the CAT Board in September 2018 and has stepped in as Interim CEO while we recruit a full-time CEO.
Kim completed a first degree in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Keele, and a DPhil in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford. She then changed course and followed a long-standing passion for the environment, enrolling in the new MSc at the Environmental Change Institute (ECI) at Oxford University in 1994.
Kim spent the next 10 years working in business as a sustainability manager and consultant, until she was once again side-tracked into running an education business back in Oxford for the next decade while her son was growing up and, as a result, developed a passion for education.
Finally, putting the two fields of education and sustainability together, in 2015 Kim worked with the ECI in Oxford to create a sustainability summer school for 16-28 year olds in Oxford called Leadership in Global Change. The Summer School attracts students from all over the world, and encourages them to see the global issues they face as a generation as a challenge that they will have to, and can, tackle.
