Paul Booth

Enthusiastic about the environment, football and the theatre, Paul has more than 30 years of experience as a charted accountant; most recently spending 18 years specialising in providing support and advice to the charity sector.

Paul and Eileen Kinsman are jointly responsible for the successful leadership and management of CAT in accordance with the strategic direction set by the Board of Trustees.

Paul was brought up in Hyde, Cheshire. He graduated from UCW Aberystwyth with a BA in Human Geography followed by an M.Phil in Urban Morphology at Birmingham University. Paul trained and qualified as a chartered accountant, spending 30 years working in accountancy practices; most recently spending 18 years as a partner at Mitchell Charlesworth in Manchester specialising in support and advice to the charity sector.

Paul is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, holds the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting and has volunteered for 20 years as a business mentor for The Prince’s Trust and was a trustee at Groundwork Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Tameside and Trafford for 5 years.

Paul’s love of the environment started at an early age, being brought up on the doorstep of a country park, and was reinforced through his love of geography at school and university. He is also a passionate football fan and a regular theatregoer.
