Home » Visiting CAT

CAT is open for courses, special events, group visits and Graduate School of the Environment students, but is unfortunately not currently open to walk-in visitors.

During a challenging time for the UK charity sector, the combination of rising running costs and reduced visitor numbers to Wales post-pandemic have made it economically unviable to continue operating the visitor centre in its current model, despite our best efforts.

While the doors to our visitor centre are closed to walk-in visitors for now, we are continuing to provide green skills for the future through all the other areas of our work.

Our Graduate School of the Environment and short course delivery are unaffected, as is our Zero Carbon Britain Hub and Innovation Lab, allowing us to continue sharing the knowledge, skills and tools required to tackle the climate and nature crisis.

We also continue to welcome a wide range of groups to CAT, including schools and universities, community groups and other organisations.

Where we have availability, we can also offer venue hire and meeting spaces and B&B accommodation for groups and individuals.

We remain strongly committed to our plans to redevelop the CAT eco centre to create new and refurbished education and skills spaces, additional accommodation, and an inspiring visitor experience. This means that when we re-open to walk-in visitors, we will be able to reach many more people. The timing of this is funding-dependent – please keep an eye on our website or sign up to our enews for updates.

If you would like to support our work sharing green skills for the future, you can make a donation or become a member today. Thank you.
